The Libyan Link
Caledonia Training and Consultancy are currently preparing for the arrival
of another large delegation of Libyan Nationals who will spend six months
attending a variety of technical training courses at Caledonias
training centre in Aberdeen. These courses were organised ahead of the
historic meeting between Tony Blair and Colonel Gaddafi during late March
2004 and this will be the third year that Caledonia has conducted training
of this nature. The relationships Caledonia has built with Tripoli strengthens
the link between our cultures and businesses.
These general oilfield courses consist of a range of specialist related
topics including drilling technology, management training, computing techniques,
English as a foreign language, survival and firefighting. These range
of activities demonstrates the diverse range of courses on offer by Caledonia.
Much of the success of the programmes have been due to Aberdeens
traditional friendship and its large Islamic community which makes the
visitors feel much at home. The history of Aberdeen and outlying areas
has contributed well to the cultural aspects of their visit. The local
oilfield service providers have assisted with a range of on site visits
backing up classroom teaching with real life scenarios and equipment.
Caledonia Training and Consultancy is currently developing new business
in the Far East and the Middle East. Their IWCF Drilling Well Control
and Well Intervention Pressure Control courses continue to run weekly
in Aberdeen, monthly in Norway, quarterly in Great Yarmouth and as required
in Libya. Our market research shows that Caledonia Training Ltd continues
to provide the most cost effective solution for your training needs.
