Aberdeen Firm Bags £2.25 Million Libya Contract
Caledonia Training and Consultancy Ltd has commenced work on a £0.5
million training contract for a leading Libyan oil company. Delivery of
further training, worth £1.75 million, will commence by late 2003.
"These contracts are the outcome of some seven years work by the
company in establishing a record as a leading training provider in Libya,"
says Managing Director, David Orr.
The Aberdeen-headquartered training and consultancy company will increase
its turnover this year with the award of this major new international
contract, accelerating its business development programme and putting
it well ahead of schedule in its growth strategy, with further growth
potential already identified.
The initial training, which is being delivered at Caledonias Bridge
of Don training centre, involves various groups of Libyan delegates completing
courses, throughout 2003, including English Language, Management, Communication,
Well Planning, Well Control, Well Intervention, Firefighting, Health &
Safety and Offshore Technology. The delegates and their families are staying
in accommodation organised by Caledonia throughout their stay in Aberdeen.
George Brebner, Finance and Operations Director, says, "The potential
in Libya is great for those companies who have the foresight and proven
deliverables to pick up on the opportunities the country has to offer.
Caledonia is actively seeking other companies to alliance with, with the
aim of broadening the scope of training and allied services it can offer".
Since its birth in 1994, Caledonia has established an excellent international
reputation for its range of technical oilfield, IT, management and communication
skills training. A specialist in Well Control and Completion Engineering,
Caledonia is recognised by IWCF and IADC WellCAP, and is an SQA certified
centre.
